What is Abba House?

Abba House is a one-year residential Christian discipleship program dedicated to helping men overcome addiction and other life-controlling struggles. Through structured discipleship, biblical teaching, and a supportive community, we provide the tools necessary for lasting transformation. Our mission is to offer shelter, healing, and mentorship to equip men to become future leaders with a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

A Two-Phase Journey to Renewal

Our program is divided into two six-month phases designed to restore stability, discipline, and faith in our residents’ lives:
• Phase One focuses on breaking destructive cycles through accountability, spiritual growth, and financial discipline. Residents are provided transportation, have limited phone access, and receive assistance in managing their money to encourage responsible savings.
• Phase Two grants additional freedoms, including personal phone and vehicle use, along with a monitored personal bank account to promote financial responsibility.

Throughout the program, residents follow a structured schedule of Bible studies, church attendance, and mentorship, ensuring that Jesus Christ remains the foundation of their recovery and transformation.

Community & Accountability

Abba House thrives on the strength of accountability and support. Our residents receive guidance from dedicated staff and mentorship from men within our partner churches. Counseling and vocational rehabilitation services are also provided in collaboration with organizations like PFH, North Central, and Vocational Rehabilitation.

We are grateful for the unwavering support of Turning Point Church, First Christian Church in Gallatin, Souls Harbor, Life Point, 10th Street Baptist, and Cowboy Church in Trenton, all of which have embraced our mission.

A Legacy of Transformation

Founded in March 2022 by Joe Burkholder, Abba House has been a place of hope and renewal for men seeking a new path in life. As one graduate shared:

“Before entering the Abba House program, I was on the verge of losing my wife and daughter to my drug addiction. Today, my family is reunited, and not only are we sober, but we have the honor of working in ministry together.” – J.B. Togun

Our Vision for the Future

Our goal is to continue growing so we can make an even greater impact on our community. As we expand, we remain committed to guiding men toward freedom, healing, and a purpose-driven life through Christ.

Join us in changing lives—one man, one family, one community at a time.

Meet the team.
